After chipboard, fiber wood is the most widely used wood material today. Extremely shredded wood is used as the starting material. As the name implies, one goes down to the fibre level of the tree trunk. The fibres are usually obtained from chips of coniferous wood. A wood texture is no longer recognisable in the finished boards. It is the best raw material for the board industry (OSB, MDF).
